Rohan Bopanna: Indian tennis Player
Rohan Bopanna, India’s tennis player has set an inspirational record at the age of 43. Bopanna became number 1 in the men’s doubles ranking in ATP. In the recent Australian Open Bopanna paired with Australian Matthew Ebden. The pair got victory in their last match against Argentine players Maximo Gonzales and Andres Molteni 6-4 7-6 (7-5) at Melbourne Park on Wednesday. Bopanna will rank on top on Monday.
Bopanna said, “People all over the world, you know, being 40 and above, I think it’s just going to inspire them differently”. “It’s just going to inspire a lot of people, I don’t think just in tennis. Rohan became the oldest player to rank no. 1 in men’s doubles.
Before him, Mike Bryan, 41 years 76 days, was the oldest payer to rank top on men’s double. Bopanna will be 43 years and 320+ days. In men’s singles, this record is held by Roger Federer, at 36 which might be taken by Novak Djokovic by this tournament. In women’s, the oldest doubles no. 1 player was clutched by Lisa Raymond, at 39 and the oldest singles was Serena Williams.
Bopanna credited Ebden as well as his physiotherapist and yoga for his hard-earned success. He said he had no cartilage in his knees and they have completely worn out. “Yoga in a way helped him a lot in strengthening my legs and helped in to stay calm in the Tennis court.

Bopanna also credited his partner, Australian player Mathew Ebden about his current top ranking. Both the players have the same points. Bopanna said they both should be no 1 together.
Both the players are looking towards the Australian Open grand slam. They paired with each other at the end of 2022 when their partners decided to divert their career paths. At first, they do not have many potential choices. Both the players are dominating the tournament. Ebden plays on the left side of the court (ad) and Bopanna plays on the right side of the court(deuce).
