England vs India: England tour of India
The upcoming England vs India test series will be played in India from from 25 January. Indian squad is all set to face England in the upcoming 5 match test series. The series is going to be held in India starting from upcoming 25 January. In the upcoming England vs India, The Indian and England squads are already been announced by the respective boards. The final match will be played in HPCA Dharamshala. The first four matches will be played until 7 March.
In the recent 2 matches of the India vs South Africa series for the freedom trophy against South Africa, India faced a draw the first match was won by South Africa with an inning and 32 runs. In the second match, India made a comeback and defeated the home team by 7 wickets. But India is expected to dominate England in the upcoming face-off by recognizing the forms of all the players, although India does not have a great record for test format against England.
From 2011, 7 test series have occurred between both teams in which England holds a lead of 4-2. The last England vs India series played by both teams was a draw of 2-2, but the men in blue were able to surprise the English team by gaining a lead of 2-1 in the first four matches.

Indian squad made some alterations to the team for the upcoming series. Rohit Sharma (captain), Shubhman Gill, and Yashasvi Jaiswal are going to be the top-order batsmen. Hitman seems to be the salient choice to be an opener with Shubhman. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored a century against Australia in the 2nd T20I, got injured his ring finger in the 2nd ODI against South Africa. Ruturaj is recovering in the National Cricket Academy and is likely to be fit for the 3rd match.
Hardik Pandya and Surya Kumar Yadav are also injured and will be playing in IPL. Hardik Pandya has been out of the team since World Cup 2023 due to an ankle injury. Hardik got injured in the match played against Bangladesh in Pune. Surya Kumar Yadav who was a skipper in the T20I and played against Australia was also diagnosed with a sports Hernia and flew to Munich, Germany for surgery. The news is confirmed by BCCI. After reviewing the instability of the middle order Ajinkya Rahane is given a chance in this series. He played his last test match against West Indies in Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
The middle order will be consisting Virat Kohli, ,Shreyas Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane. For wicketkeeper, two choices have been taken by the team. K.L Rahul and Ishan Kishan. Ishan was unhappy as he was not given a break. He requested to the selection for a break due to mental fatigue. After that he was withdrawn from the test series. India has opted for only one spinner for the series. Ravichandran Ashwin is going to be the only spinner in the squad. Two all rounders have been selected by the team management by far.
Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja are going to be the all-rounders for the squad. Axar Patel is given a chance in this series. Axar made his debut in 2021 in the 2nd test match against England in the England Tour of India in which he scored 5 runs in 14 runs and was stumped by Ben Foakes.
In his last test match against Australia in March 2023 in Ahmedabad, he scored a total of 79 runs and took 2 wickets. For fast bowlers, India has chosen 4 pacers Mohammad Shami, Prasidh Krishna, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj. Mohammed Shami was the star bowler for the Indian cricket team.
